Family Tree

Tandy Parks Brown was born in Grayson, Georgia on December 4, 1889. He left home at a very early age, probably because the town as too small for him and he was ready for an adventure! He enlisted in the Army at 17 and served in the Phillipines from 1907-1909. When he returned, he was stationed at Fort D.A. Russell where he met and married Grace Cleo Parker on November 16, 1912. While in the Army, Vivian, Anna and Tandy were born. The Army thought that was too many children and Tandy had to resign. The family then moved to Cheyenne and Roy, June, Betty, Leah, Frank, Leonard, Stuart, Charles, Nancy, Dick, Dolfe,Pat, Sandy and Mike came along. If the Army only knew!
It would be impossible to think of Tandy without remembering those sparkling eyes and easy smile. He had a wonderful sense of humor and you wondered if he was ever serious about anything! He could dispel that notion quickly when you misbehaved!
Tandy worked as a brakemen on the Union Pacific Railroad and retired in 1959 after 46 years.
