A Very Full House...

This website is dedicated, first and foremost, to Dolfe Brown Van Alyne, who has tirelessly documented the stories of this family through the family newsletter, "The Plain Brown Rapper", and the book of Civil War Letters, "Dear Father". Secondly, it is dedicated to Mike Brown, for his willingness to locate and scan endless documents and for his patience and enthusiasm for the project. Please note that this is my first attempt at building a website and that it is a work in progress!
